With Coachella weekend one completed and weekend two on the horizon, many of the artists have not held back from their star-studded performances and surprise guests!
To start off the weekend, Friday’s lineup featured amazing performances from artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Suki Waterhouse, and Faye Webster. The night ended with Lana Del Rey’s performance, which featured surprise guest Billie Eilish, who joined Rey to perform her song “Ocean Eyes.”
Saturday’s lineup featured fan favourite artists such as RAYE, No Doubt, and Jon Batiste. During No Doubt’s performance, Olivia Rodrigo joined Gwen Stefani during her performance of “Bathwater.” Saturday ended the night off with a performance by Tyler, the Creator. Guest stars in this performance included Childish Gambino, A$AP Rocky, Charlie Wilson, and Kali Uchis.
Ending off the weekend, Sunday’s lineup featured show-stopping performances from Renee Rapp, J Balvin, and Bebe Rehxa. All three artists mentioned above brought out special guests, with Kesha joining Rapp to perform her song “TikTok”, Will Smith joining J Balvin’s performance, and David Guetta joining Behe Rehxa’s performance to perform their viral song “I’m Good.” Doja Cat ended off the festival Sunday night with 6 outfit changes and guest performances from 21 Savage, Teezo Touchdown, and A$AP Rocky.
More iconic moments from the weekend included Sabrina Carpenter wearing a “Jesus was a Carpenter” shirt, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce making an appearance, and of course all of the eccentric and unique outfits worn by all those in attendance!
Speaking of Taylor Swift, her 11th studio album “The Tortured Poets Department” comes out on Friday 19th April. Many fans are incredibly excited for this album release as they are keen to know more about her breakup with ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
Also announced this week, Troye Sivan and Charli XCX will be going on tour together this fall with special guest Shygirl. Fans are excited to see what these two artists are going to bring to the table with a collaborative tour.
Finally, Heartstopper star Kit Connor and Hunger Games star Rachel Zegler announced this week that they will be starring in a stage adaptation of Romeo and Juliet this fall on Broadway. The adaptation will be directed by Sam Gold, with music by Jack Antonoff and movement by Sonya Tayeh. Pairing these two iconic Gen Z actors together will surely have ticket sales boosting!
Speaking of Taylor Swift, her 11th studio album “The Tortured Poets Department” came out on Friday 19th April. As per usual with Swift, her fans were utterly shocked when she announced a “double album” at 2AM, releasing 15 more songs. With a total duration of over 2 hours, fans better get their favourite snacks gathered and get ready for a long listening party!
